Different countries around the world have their special times for celebrating with fireworks. However the UK have their fireworks night in November, so it happens to be the only time you tend to see fireworks for sale in the shops. We love our fireworks night and we often start with the fireworks a few weeks early just to get warmed up.
The original inventors of fireworks, the Chinese, have a massive celebration around the end of January beginning of February, depending on where it falls on their calendar, celebrating their new year. It's an all-out holiday and probably their biggest celebration of the year.
The Chinese however have their big shin dig around the end of January and beginning of February. They celebrate the Chinese new year over a period of several days and as they were the original inventors of fireworks, they certainly make their way into the celebrations.
Of course we all know Americans have their big fireworks display on the 4th of July celebrating their independence from us. However as they do their fireworks in the summer they get to wear shorts and enjoy the balmy summer evening as opposed to sloshing through mud and huddling around the bonfire.
In France their big firework holiday is Bastille day. As it's celebrated on the 14th of July, with millions of fireworks all over the country, it's close to the time when Americans celebrate their independence on the 4th of July. So another summer fireworks display with barbeques more likely to be abounding than bonfires.
Thankfully though we are not always reliant on fireworks being sold in the store, and we can find several fireworks online at any time of the year. So if you're in the States for bonfire night, or in the UK for the 4th of July, you won't have to miss out on the big bangs.
